Back Alley, Redux

exercise in futility?

This’ll be a quickie — I should’ve been fast asleep three hours ago and I have a long day tomorrow.

I dove into the archives and chose a photo taken on this same day, and found myself in 2006. On March 13 I took this photo in a back alley downtown. Although it looks quite ordinary in its sepia-ness, it has become one of my most viewed posts on this website in the seven years that have passed since. I don’t know why! The post gets an extraordinary amount of SEO love. I’ve even received emails asking for usage of the photo, and it was taken with a point-and-shoot.

All that to say, there is something to be said for the ordinary. Don’t dismiss it… it may turn out to surprise you.
