2012Astrid + Navarre: The Wedding Album
I am ever-so-slowly catching up on editing. The travel activity in the four weeks between May and June set me far back on the post-production end, and I’m working my way through it. Which reminds me — it’s time to post Astrid and Navarre’s highlights album with some of my favourite images of the day.
Starting with the First Look and wedding party portraits at Cullen Gardens in Whitby before the ceremony:
The buildings at Cullen Gardens are actually closed up, but the grounds are still open to the public and they’re being maintained. It was the perfect location for the First Look and shots with the wedding party.
After Cullen Gardens the wedding party took a lunch break before heading to Kingdom Hall for the ceremony.
This is one wedding where it would’ve been extremely helpful to know Spanish. The entire wedding, including the whole ceremony and most of the speeches, was conducted in Spanish. I had to listen very, very carefully to hear my cues for what was coming next, eg. the first kiss.
And then it was time to beat the eastbound long weekend traffic along the 401 to reach the reception hall in Clarington.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Latin weddings have the BEST dancing, bar none. It’s in their genes! (Which means it’s in my genes, too, but apparently my genes have forgotten the code. I routinely get out of my invitations to the dance floor by pointing to the camera.)
Posting the album as an embedded slideshow is probably going to bog down the loading of this web page, so for slower connections I will redirect you to the full-screen slideshow in Flickr or the set as thumbnails. For faster connections, just sit back and watch the 100 or so images autoplay below.
The full album is best viewed as a full-screen slideshow, or view the smaller slideshow autoplaying below:
