8 Years On Flickr

So I was thinking about my upcoming 10-year blog anniversary later this month when, on a related note, I realized I’ve recently passed the eight-year mark for Flickr. Apparently I joined in June 2004, but I didn’t upload any photos until September. Why not? Because I didn’t know what the hell I was doing.

To date, I have 25,691 photos in Flickr. I think I know what I’m doing now.

In 2004 I owned one camera: a lowly point-and-shoot with a swivel screen, the Canon Powershot A80, and I (ab)used it constantly until I accidentally drowned it in my bag with a leaky water bottle in 2006.

Here are the first photos I uploaded to Flickr on September 9, 2004. All the photos were taken with point-and-shoots.
