This is the bride’s school lunchbox, still in decent shape and ready to use at her wedding reception.

It goes without saying, I’ve seen a lot of weddings — as a photographer. (I’ve actually only been a guest at a handful of weddings: Vancouver – 3, Toronto – 1, Pennsylvania – 2, Germany – 1, England – 1.) My favourite ones to shoot are the kind where the couple’s personalities shine through, where they write their own vows, use or refer to things from childhood, and get inspired.

The wedding I’ve got lined up this weekend will be EPIC. I’ve shot some pretty unusual weddings featuring such things as owl costumes, drunken sailors, robots, Dairy Queen sundaes, ceremonial rituals I’ve had to research on YouTube, and opera singers, but this one will be especially, um… memorable??
